Hockey-Hockey

Had 4 games WE-SA, Allen on WE and FR and STARS on TH and SA.  Split both series.  Rode bicycle on SA and SU.  Cold down here 50's in the am. Time for a windbreaker.  On the SU ride one of our riders fell in a crack and was run over by a following rider.  The following riders chainring (front teethed ring) ran over his face.  Lots of blood an resulted in 3 police cars, 1 ambulance, and 1 fire truck.  Trip to hospital as he was not really responsive and the worst part he is undergoing chemotherapy for Mantel Cell Lymphoma and is somewhat immunosuppressed.  Lots of police reports and now waiting for more info from the hospital.  Back to work tomorrow and off to vote today.  Getting part of the house siding replaced and house painted, new roof and windows fixed from hail this spring.  Lots of fun. All for this week

Another periodic post

Burrrrrrrrrr cold down here.  59 yesterday and had to wear a windbreaker on the bike ride.  Did not ride SA as the Appple meeting happened - stayed inside and warm!  STARS preseason is over and regular season starts TH.  Allen Americans season starts this SA/SU.  One preseason game and won 2:0.  Dust Bunny loves this colder weather as I have not turned on the furnaces yet - just wearing more clothes and wrapping up in blankets for TV watching.  Back to work tomorrow so I can continue to afford the hockey tickets.  All for now

Roof Fun

Started the process to replace my roof.  Had hail in May - June but lots of claims and I had no leaks, other real damage etc. so I decided to wait until the emergencies had been taken care of.  Have had 3 nails in the front tires (3 different times) from the roofing nails not swept up.  Had to get one new tire as it was too far to the side for repair.  Getting cooler and rain maybe 3 days this week.  Rained SA but I was at the Apple meeting so would not have ridden anyway.  Did get in 35mi on SU.  STARS and Americans seasons start soon (probably mentioned that before).  DSO had Megan Hilty last FR - good concert.  Other than the pain of the new roof SOS in big R

SOS from Big R

Not much new - work etc.etc.etc.  Did however make a trip to Houston with my friends Cathy/Jerry (old dive friends) to visit other old dive friends.  Sat around all weekend telling stories, playing twin 4 Laboradores (sp). Had them chasing balls all weekend.  They were tired in the evening.  The couple we stayed with have two kids one of each and the lady is in the Navy and is not stationed in VA.  Just returned from deployment on the carrier Truman.  Son works for sporting goods store and is also a diver, boater.  Lots of stories.  Back in Big R and resting up to return to the VA Tuesday.

No pictures - just booooooooring "prose"

Been hot and a little rain.  Been trying to ride but heat is tuff.  Has not stopped the 30mi ride on the weekend.  Has stopped the 40-50 miles however.  Heart is ok but time off has decreased the physical stamina.  Waiting for hockey GO STARS and Allen Americans to start.  Off to see another Black and White play on FR.  I'm sure I mentioned these before.  All actors in shades of  gray and black as the sets.  Like watching an old time black and white movie.  Always funny and you forget about no color until the cast comes out and meets the audience after the play.  Still working.  Had a visit with the pacemaker MD and now all Inhave to do is send in (wirelessly) the report every 3 months and they will evaluate and let me know of any problems.  That's enuff for now and back to the boring!!!!

Finally an update from the Fantom

Allen Americans win their 4th National title.  2 in the CHL and 2 in the ECHL.  The CHL joined the ECHL in 2015.  Now on to next season.  STARS still building for the CUP and waiting til next year.  Hot here and a little rain.  Feeling better on the bike but still out of shape.  Pacemaker is working but the muscles are not-at least like they used to.  Am getting in 30-40 mi bike rides on SA and SU and then resting for a week to try again.  While I am a little late for this one - still ahead of the Carmel Blogger!!!!

Back on the bike

24 mi on Saturday.  Pacemaker worked and no problems there.  Only problem were with the legs as they had not been on a bike for 8 weeks.  Sore but recovering.  I knew it would be slow getting back to the 40-50 mi rides but I've started.  Maybe by Dec I will be back to as normal as I can be

Nothing new but been awhile

Hockey, working, not riding - but everything is progressing OK with pace-maker, theater, symphony. Lots of rain and warming up slowly.  Have not turned on the AC yet.  Americans are 3/2 (winning) in their series and the STARS are 2/3 (losing) in theirs but at least are in the playoffs as opposed to the DeadWings!!! Still watching Maury and Jerry for entertainment?  More maybe next week?

Bionic Man

Being turned into a bionic man starting with a pacemaker last TU.  Everything went well and now taking it easy - no bike riding and somewhat reduced activity.  No lifting more than 10#, left arm over the head. Etc.  Appoint with MD in 3 weeks and then maybe back to bike riding.   Boring!!!
Not missing the hockey games or DSO as not much exercise there.

Interesting week

Lots of theater.  The WaterTower Theater has a " Out Of The Loop Festival" each year.  Consists of 10 days of original stuff.  Most about 1 hr long.  So on SA or SU one might see 3 plays.  Week nights juts one.  However there are 3 performance spaces so 3 shows a night at the theater.  Some worth remembering, some ready for the dirt pile, and others worth seeing again.  All interesting as someone has to think of the show.  Most interesting thing that happened is that last WE I had an episode of syncope and "fainted" at work.  Work up in the VA ER and spent until 7pm in a room on a cardiac monitor.  When the MDs got to the Pharmacy my heart rate was 40.  At 7 pm I check out AMA and made the MDs not happy.  Went home and then on TH showed up at my cardiologists office in-announced at 8:30am and he saw me at 9:30.  Found no emergent problems and am going back this TH for a 24 hr Holter Monitor.  Rode my bike both SA and SU with no problems.  Well I guess that will do for now.

New week/Same stuff

Did get in 35mi on SA and 32 on SU on the bike.  Been in the hi 70's down here and no rain last week.  Little rain over night and more forecast for TU and WE.  Been dry down here.  Work is the same.  Hockey is so so with the STARS losing more than winning recently.  Allen Americans on a losing streak on the road.  No theater this week.  Boring week and back to work.

More of the same

did get in 32 mi on SU.  Did not ride SA as the Apple Corps. meeting was SA.  Beat Wash. Caps. on SA. YEAH.  More theater but not the best.  "Lord Of The Flies". Long and not too interesting.  "Slave Letters". Black cast reading letters written during slave time.  World premier written by the owner/operator/atristic director of MBS Productions.  In interested in the type of plays look up MBS Productions.  Wired but interesting plays.  Been season ticket holder for several years now.  I. The 70's this week.  Now we need rain .  Back to work in the am and normal stuff.

Painful

Weather on the weekend was in the 70's so no reason not to ride.  So 27 on SA and 30 on SU and then suffer SU pm and MO am.  More   hockey on FR and SU and theater on SA.  Saw "I Love You You're Perfect Now Change" for the umpteenth time.  Saw it 4 times in one year.  Needless to say I enjoy the play.  Like to listen to the audience react to the jokes.  The theater brings it back each year and I think this was the 14th year.  It was in the larger theater earlier.  That is about it for now.

More of the same

Hockey - both Americans and STARS, DSO, working and no bike riding.  To cold for being outside - at least for this TEXAN.  This is not IN or MI.  No snow Yeah! however.  Took the Ford for a window chip repair this am.  This is the 3rd chip repair on this vehicle.  In all the other cars I've owned these are the first chips I've ever had.  Knocking on wood for no more.  The ins pays for them and no $ changes from my hands except for the ins premiums.  That is about it for now.

Cold

32 Today and SA.  Been misting and cold so no bike riding again.  Did forget to mention the last week the DSO had the Cirque de la Symphonie.  This is the Cirque deLe Solei with the DSO playing music behind the acrobats.  Played the theme from Superman with them flying over the audience and orchestra.  Had the comedian/juggler dancers, etc.  Lots of  familiar music.  Very interesting.  Still hockey, work - all the normal week stuff.

Interesting week

Normal hockey, STARS and Americans, working 3 whole days.  Interesting part was SA went to the theater.  Pegasus Theater puts on a Black and White play each year where the actors/actresses are all dressed in shades of grey as well as grey faces.  Sets all grey.  Kinda Like an old time black & white movie.  One gets use to no color and at the end a lady comes out in a bright red dress for the contrast to give away the door prize. (might have told you about this last year but I like to repeat myself). The title of this years play "Death is a Bad Habit" taking place in the convent of the Sisters of Perpetual Weepiness.  The play is over acted, lots of puns, murders, etc and very funny.  See them every year.  New Year's Eve was calm as us professional drinkers stay home and let the amateurs have the
roads😀.  All until next week.
