I'm Back

Holidays half over.  I received sack labeled coal for Christmas and it will burn fine in the fireplace and save $ on the utility bills.  Still going to the theater.  Saw "The Beauville Baptist Book Club Puts on the Burlesque Q Nutcracker" for the fifth time.  Too long of a review for the blog and if interested and can remember will give a review in GA in Nov.  Very funny and changes a little each year.  Comes with the season ticket package.  You will never listen to the nutcracker again without seeing these dancers.  Lots of hockey this week and more work.  No bike riding it was freezing yesterday and raining on SA.  Will have to have a remedial course in riding in the future.

Back to " normal"

Another week.  Work, one theater performance and a couple of hockey games.  Both Allen Americans and STARS.  Nothing new at work except it getting busier.  Lots of new workload but no new FTE.  Even the FTE that transfer out are not replaced.  HR at their best.  No bike riding this weekend.  Attended the Apple Corps. Meeting on SA and lots of rain on SU.

I'm Back

Well as most of you know I was in GA and TN for Thanksgiving.  Had nice visits with all.  Lots of windshield time and the "new" (2 yrs old) car now has 50,000 mi.  Lots of hockey, both Allen Americans and the STARS.  Winning some and losing some.  Some Stars games ( ones that are lost) are harder to take as the DEAD ONES cost me an additional $1.00.  Back at work again and everyone said they missed me?  Theater gets started again this week.  Dust Bunny was happy to have someone here more than just feeding time even tho that is a favorite time for her.  More in a week or so

Another Week

allen Americans (ECHL hockey) is winning on the road and at home but the STARS win on the road and loose at home and again last night to the GreyHawks.  4 goals in the 3rd period did the STARS in.  3 games this week with the DSO so will be busy week again.  Cold here in Big R below freezing too darn cold!!!!  Off to the DDS at 1 and the most of MD/DDS appts finished tor the year.  So another boring week.  One of these years I might figure out how to post pictures but don't know what of.

Pretty Boring Week

Hockey on TU and FR.  Theater on TH " Bonnie and Clyde". interesting as lots of local history.  The bike group has a "Dead People's Ride" that visits their graves and lots of other historical places from the 1960's.  DSO on SA and too long hair for me esp for a Pops concert.  Enuff for the post.

What A Week

TU NHL hockey game, WE night off (my rocker for my MI nephew), TH theater "Dante Purgatorio" and needed Br. Cassian to explain along with translation of the Latin used, FR Allen Americans hockey, SA DSO with the artist Tony Desare - never heard of him but lots of different style of songs and very enjoyable, SU back to the DSO for the Halloween concert - not very good in the choice of music - too long hair for the kids in the audience, and finally MO my colonoscopy and yes I am not full of it for at least one day.  Everything OK and don't come back for 7 years as the staff requested!
Busy week and now ready for the next one.

Update

eye is pretty well back to normal.  Little bruise left.  Left hand had a slight broken bone at the base and wearing a brace but not all the time.  Can't ride with the brace.  Swelling is down and still a little sore.  Tried to tell the MD's that the pain level was a 10 - that way you get Oxy-codone!!!  Actually the MD said he heard that a bunch and I was to go home and take ASA or Tylenol.  Will visit the MD Gain in about 3 weeks for final checkout.  Other than that it's the SOS.

I'm Back

Been a couple of weeks but not as long as Lela's non posting.  As you all know I was in Naptown a couple of weeks ago for the 50th college reunion - there were lot of old people there.  Had nice visits in Kinsgton Springs TN with Jason/Heather and the boys on the way up and back to big R.  Also nice visits with Doug/Lela and Kat/Eric and the boys in Naptown.  Dinner with Kristen/Dalton - good? Mexican food in Carmel.  If I was technical enuff I would post a picture of my black left eye and bruised left hand.  Hockey is tuff on spectators also.  Before anyone says anything I was sober at 11pm when I tripped over a raised curb brick in the sidewalk on the way home from the AAC.  Took a face plant on the pavement, shook it off and drove home.  At 5:30am visited the ER after I woke up and look at the eye.  No broken bones in the face or new broken bones in the hand.  However some old ones (maybe whe I broke the left wrist over 50 years ago) and have a orthopedist appointment on WE.  However, did not keep me from riding this weekend. Well I think that is enuff from Big R and everything is OK.  Just FYI.

Not much new

Getting ready for the trip to IN/TN  this week.  Was a great week to be off from work as the pharmacy computer/filling system is down for upgrade.  Therefore, all Rx's will need to be hand filled.  Lots of work and having to explain the longer wait times.  Has gotten cooler here and getting ready for fall/winter.

Whew

Weather has been really interesting.  WE was a record 101 with FR at 52 and SA/SU at 62 in the am. Dust Bunny really likes this cooler weather and is happy!  Turned on the furnace and broke out the winter coats.  Riding in the winter calls for several layers to keep warm.  Back to work in the am and we are getting ready for a new computerized filling system.  New equipment is here and will be installed next week.  Happy I will not be there as all Rx's will be filled by hand and therefore lots of complaints as to waiting time.  Will hear all about when I get back.  That's it for this week.

Something New?

Same old stuff as in the last weeks - work, riding bikes, sleeping, and terrorizing the Dust Bunny.  The DSO season has started and FR was a concert called Let's Dance.  Symphony plays the music and had dancers in fron of the orchestra dancing.  All types, swing, jitter bug, tango. Etc with a couple of singers.  One of the singers was a 4th runner up from American Iol about 4 years ago.  Better concert than I expected from the title.  First concert of the 14 concert series.  Hockey in a couple of weeks.

New post for the week

Taking a break from Jerry and posting on the blog.  Still riding the bike and the temp has decreasd to the mid to hi 90's.  Cooling off for TX.  Saw a play "Candy Barr's Last Dance" about her life and her associations with lots of "famous" people. Have the day off but that is normal for me as it is MO.  Still waiting for hockey.  Will be in Naptown the last or Sept. for my - ready for this - my 50th year class reunion.  Probably not many of us left - just to beat some of you to that comment.

Same old stuff except

Still just working and whatever.  Did pay a visit to Tyler State Park to visit friends that have purchased a new travel trailer.  Set it up at the lake in the park.  Not too spacious (barely sleeps 2) and very sparce space.   Easy to pull behind the Expedition but not for me.  Was a fun visit and then back to Big R - did not spend the night as I would had to sleep on the ground.  They have a Bengal cat that is leased trained and did "walk" the cat or better the cat walked us.

Been a while

Nothing new in Big R.  Weather up in the 100's then down to the 90's for the highs.  Riding the bike, working, a littler theater and the rest boooooring work.  Did. Make a trip to lake Lewisville and a trip on a house boat one weekend evening.  Owner of the boat a Coast Guard type person for the lake so some radio traffic.  No one went swimming or even fell off the boat.  Still waiting for hockey to start, DSO to get underway as well as the 3 theater seasons to start.
Maybe a little sooner next time.

Hot weekend

Increased temps from last week.  101 on SA and 103 on SU so mileage not as great.  41 on SA and 27 on SU.  Took it easy.  Still waiting on the schedule for the Americans and then the start of hockey season.  Other than ayah same old stuff in Big R.

New post

Rode last week just a little.  Hit the Apple Corps. Meeting on SA and rode on SU.  This last weekend did one do the longest rides of the year 56 mi on SA and 31 pn SU.  Saw a possum on the half-shell (armadillo) dead in the road.  Now that would be tuff or run over.  Had to wear wind-beakers on the rides this weekend only in the 70's.  Will be back to normal 100's by the end of the week.  Ready for the hockey season to start

After the 4th

Well just worked and did get a little bike riding this weekend.  47mi on FR, 41mi on SA and 35mi on SU.  Ready for a rest WHEW!!  Getting warmer but no 100's yet maybe next week.

Late post

Problem at work solved.  Simple suggestion and have Supr. Really supervise and assign work and things worked out.   Tuff having done the job and now have little or no input.  Spent weekend in Kingston Springs TN.  The little one had "Hoof and Mouth Disease". I guess since he does not have hooves the MD changed the diagnosis to "Foot, Hand and Mouth" disease.  Rash, mouth sores,  fever and no cure.  Symptomatic treatment with Diphenhydramine and Ibuprofen solns.  Ask at work on TU and one of the RPh's had heard of the disease.  Virus normally in children and carried by adults (not symptomatic).  Other than than that little set back had a great time.

Interesting week at work???

Will have to make a decision to maybe stir up trouble at work.  Last TH the Asst. Chf made a decision that affects my efficiency to check Rx's (or at least that is my opinion).  Sit in an office and make decisions without listening to others that are doing the tasks.  At least say this is the problem how can we correct it.  My immediate supr. has ask about the changes and left me with the impression there is no discussion just do it.  Might be a fun week at work but will see if any changes have been made as I am not the only one upset.  Had 4 days to work it out.  We'll see on TU.

New Week Again

Not much new here.  Work etc. no theater,hockey,movies.  DULL.  Did ride SA (45mi) but not SU raining.   Also lots of rain this am. Should stop soon but we really need the rain.  Back to wok in the am so just same ol same ol

Nothing new last week-Probably not this week either

A little more of interest this week.  Still riding 40/50 mi on SA and 30/35 on SU and las SA got a little wet in the light rain.  Did see a real funny play "Shear Madness".  Set in a beauty shop a audience participation murder mystery.  Laughed all the way thru.  Lots of local references e.g that has been a long time kinda like the Stars winning the Stanley Cup.  Local town referenced and naturally Jerry Jones and the Cryboys.  That' about it.

Nothing New

Bike riding this weekend 45 on SA 30 on SU.  DDS this am good results can keep all my teeth.  Back to work tomorrow and that is about all until the weekend.  Getting hotter eah day and no rain in the forecast.

New Week

Americans win the cup YEAH!!  Back to back championships.  Now on to next year.  Turned on the AC this week as it is getting hotter.  Rain today but none ovwe the weekend so good biking weather .
Other than that nothing new in Big R.

Next Week

Allen Americans going for the CHL Championship this week with the next 3 games in Allen.  Between hockey and theater this will be a busy week.  Naturally off today and Friday (as usual) and just taking it easy.  Had the longest ride of the year at 48.2 mi on SA and a shorter 28mi on SU.  Keeps the blood circulating.  Did turn on the AC this am as it will be 95 or so today but rain hopefully on TH.  Very dry and running out of H2O in TX.

Hockey?

STARS lost to the Ducks in OT last night BOOO! So season is over.  The happy part is the STARS won more playoff game than the DEAD WINGS YEAH!  Allen Americans are behind 3:2 but have 2 home games TU and WE of this week.  Maybe we can continue to the finals.  Bike ride SA but were rained out on SU so it was breakfast time.  So another week is starting.

Another week

STARS are down 2:0 with game 3 tonight starting at 8:30pm.  So late night and early work day on WE.  Allen Americans are tied 1:1 with the Quad City Ducks.  So lots of hockey in Big R.  "Marianela" at MBS productions very interesting in TH.  If interested in story line the website MBS productions has the synopsis.  Play very interesting and one of the better ones recently.  Bike riding over the weekend good weather for it also.  Beginning to be TX weather again.

Hockey Time

STARS made the playoffs for the first time in 5-6 years YEAH but then so did the DEAD Wings.  The Allen Americans won the first round in their playoff series so they are waiting for the next ground opponent.  Houston was fine and got enuff CE for the year and will go the TSHP seminar next year in San Antonio.  Taxes filed whew.  Back to work TU.  Dust Bunny had a visiting sitter for the time I was gone and she was happy to see me after 4 days.  That is all for this week.

Busy week

Allen Americans (CHL) won both games WE,TH now off to Bramton Canada for 3 games and hopefully not back for more games ( if they don't come back that means they have moved on in the playoffs).  Then the Tockadero Ballet (look them up on the web). A comedy ballet (all male troupe--all classically trained! from all over the world). See them every time they get within driving distance of Big R.  Off to Houston for my CE for the year TH-SU.  So busy week.

Another Week

Allen Americans in the CHL playoffs starting WE.  Yeah. And now to wait for the STARS to hopefully make it to the playoffs.  Bike riding this week end first time (almost) this year.  37 mi SA 2nd longest ride of the year and the 27 on SU.  Did have a crash (not me-a visitor from Lake Tahoe) got caught in a crack and broke his collar bone.  Took him (a passer by) to the ER.  Went back to Tahoe later in the day with a sling and drugs.  Off to work tomorrow BOOO!,!

Whew!!

Americans hockey is winding? down.  Three more regular season games WE,FR,SA and the off to the playoffs.  So not over yet.  Stars might make it to the playoffs just like the Dead Wings.  Busy every day/night this week I need a rest.  No bike riding again as weather is rainy and cold and I am not ready to risk broken bones in slick streets (As I tell every one I am not training for any race etc and need to get out in the bad weather.)

Another Week

Lots of bad weather for bike riding so none the past 2 weeks.  However still hockey going on - some winning and sometimes the other team gets lucky.  One of the theaters is town (Water Tower) has their Out Of The Loop festival which offers new plays.  Normally about an hour each.  Saw one per night (when not at a hockey game) and 2-3 on SA and SU.  About 10 during the last week.  All theaters out for a while.  One of the interesting was by one of Ray Charles' back up singers.  Good music and Ray Charles was not a "good" person when relating to the singers.  I'm resting until TU and then back to work (one day of rest). Retirement is wonderful.

Booorrring!!!

It is 16 outside now and no bike riding SU.  32 in the am on SU and temp fell all day long.  Snow - a whopping 1/4 inch with about 1/4 inch of ice.  Will warm up to 32 today!  Did do 2 hockey games on SA.  A 2pm STARS game and a 7:05pm game at Allen Americans.  STARS vs the Buffaloons tonight at 7pm so hopefully the ice will be gone enuff to go.  Happy to have a front wheel drive vehicle.
Other than that, just more of the usual.

Same old stuff

Nothing to new here in Big R.  Stars did win a couple this week and eht AmericNs were on the loosing streak.  Theater on TH was not good and would not see that play again "On The Eve".  NHL is gone until after the Olympics and will be catching up on friends and dinners with them.  Back to work in the am and it will be another week.

Back Again

Pretty slow week for hockey.  Did go to the theater and saw again "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change". Show is brought back each year and I have to go.  Been returning for approx 15 years.  I saw it 4 times one year with different groups of friends.  The theater normally starts with a run and then extends it and it has been extended again this year.  Normal audience is 100 for each performance.  Makes $ for the theater.  Too cold for bike riding this weekend.  That's it for this week

Another Week

All hockey.  Only night without was Wednesday.  STARS shut out the Penguins YEAH! Americans won both of their games.  Work and a little chilly for bicycle riding.  Warmed up in the afternoon so rode a little in the neighborhood but not the longer rides I am used to (40-60mi). Back to work in the am. Tuff working 3 days a week.

Same old stuff but something new

Just working, hockey riding bicycles (weather was OK highs in the 60's and lows in the low 40's).  Don't know how to dress for the ride.  Have to make clothing adjustments half way thru the ride and carry the excess stuff back to the start.  Did see a "Black and White" play SA.  All the performers are in grey make up as are the sets.  In old melodrama acting method.  Comedy murder mystery with the head police person  a wanna be actor while trying to solve a murder.  The make-up is patented/trademarked and this is about the 15th in this series.  Writes one a year and presents it at the holiday time.  Always a good laugh and I don't miss them.  All for this week
